Fundraising -- Support Something Fishy

Hi Everyone...

Every once in a while we ask all of you to help us out if you can.

Keeping this site going has been difficult for us over the years... it obviously requires a lot of our time and there are substantial costs that we pay.

Since September 11th (2001) it has been more difficult -- as a result, I was laid off from my full-time job. I've managed to supplement some of my income with various freelance work, but making ends meet has often been tough. Last year we came close to losing the house, and we've had to negotiate settlements with some of our debtors. We've managed to hold on, but every once in a while we need to put the word out that the things we sell through SF are, in part, what keeps the site going, and what provides us the opportunity to continue having the time to keep SF running.

We sell t-shirts, original music CDs, stickers, a CD-Rom and now 8x10 photographic prints (original).

We also allow anyone feeling so inclined to make a financial contribution.

We NEVER want to have to charge members to come to the site. We NEVER want to have the site innundated with pop-up ads or disruptive banner advertising. We have had offers to buy the site, but it's important to us to keep doing it ourselves, so it remains an objective source of information. All of this is important to us because it's important that everyone gets the help they need, through a place they feel safe.

Please consider helping out. We don't ask often, but this is one of those times we are really feeling the crunch of a bad economy. We know it effects everyone, and we don't ask for a lot... even if you can purchase just one CD or make a small contribution, it's much appreciated.
