Listings in Nevada
Center for Hope of the Sierras
The Center for Hope of the Sierras is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, less than 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe. The residence is a large and bright, yet cozy Victorian-style home with charming bedrooms, and spacious individual and group therapy settings. Numerous common areas offer a welcoming environment for healing. The stunning yard features several large-covered porches with sitting areas and gardens, with a horseback riding area and stable.
At the Center for Hope of the Sierras, we help clients to redefine their lives by finding meaning based on their unique gifts, interest, and talents separate from their eating disorder. To achieve this, the Center offers a multitude of individual, family and group therapies designed to heal. These include medical and psychiatric treatment as necessary, art and recreational therapy, equestrian assisted therapy, massage therapy, educational classes and cultural exploration, yoga and meditation, music lessons, horticulture, language and photography classes all depending on the individual needs and interests of our clients.
Our Philosophy: It is our belief that individuals with eating disorders are unique, creative, caring, and sensitive persons who have lost a connection with their true inner spirit. The Center offers treatment emphasizing a therapeutic alliance and opportunities for self-discovery and exploration. Our philosophy is that it is the persons birthright to have a self; therefore treatment emphasizes the need for individuals to cope with the complex emotions which cause them to doubt this right, as well as the need for clients to take themselves as well as their physical and emotional needs seriouslyleading them to experience themselves as valid and competent human beings, and ultimately to healing of mind, body, and spirit.
