Rochester Rehabilitation Center

We offer 2 services for persons with an Eating Disorder.

1) An on-going outpatient support group once a week(Wed at 6:15pm)utilizing a supportive cognitive behavioral approach designed especially for treating Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating disorder. This group is lead by an experienced Certified Social Worker and RN. This group currently has a few immediate openings after 2 individual screening appointments. Once filled we will accept names for a waiting list.

2) Specialized treatment within a Continuing Day Treatment Program with a range of groups including specific groups for persons with an eating disorder. Perspective clients are asked to visit the program for up to 3 days before admission for screening purposes. This program offers DBT Skills Training with a specially designed diary card for Eating Disorders. Also available are art therapy groups, self-esteem groups, work-out groups etc. The staff is an experienced multidisciplined group of professionals who are committed to your success.

Both services accept Medicaid insurance and limited other insurance plans. We also have the option of a sliding fee scale. These services are not meant for people whose eating disorder requires In-patient or Partial Hospitalization level of treatment.

Avalon Eating Disorders Treatment Center
Day Treatment Program

Comprehensive Day Treatment Program under the medical supervision of a psychiatrist. Staff include clinical social workers, dietician, nurses, art therapist, occupational therapist, educators and other therapists. The mission of the Eating Disorders Association of WNY is to educate and increase awareness about eating disorders and to provide direction for treatment. Our mission is accomplished by sponsoring support groups for persons with eating disorders and significant others in their lives, through educational programs for the professional community as well as public at large, offering individual case management and consultation, and by acting as a linkage agent between providers.
