The Sante Center for Healing
Medical, psychiatric, nursing, dietary, eating disorder, and psychosocial assessments are carefully evaluated by a team of health care professionals upon entrance to the program. Each patient benefits from daily consultations with experienced, dedicated, and highly credentialed professionals and licensed clinicians, including physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, dieticians, therapists, social worker, mental health technicians. The Sante Center for Healing maintains a clinical ratio of one clinician to two patients. The treatment orientation of the Centers professionals and clinicians is strongly eclectic, in accordance with the patients treatment needs.
The 12 step-based, holistic program is individualized, with the frequency and intensity of treatment depending on patients recovery needs and goals. Group sessions are facilitated in conjunction with patients who are investing in their own recovery from eating disorders, substance addictions and/or behavioral addictions
Treatment includes nutritional counseling, process groups, psychoeducational and skills-training classes, role-playing, creative and expressive therapy, dance/movement therapy, psychodrama, meditation, yoga, journal writing, guided imagery, biofeedback, EMDR and other forms of trauma work, mindfulness techniques, and such recreational therapies as ropes.
Patients are closely monitored each day at the Sante Center for Healing. They are encouraged to make choices from a food line that are based on a meal plan carefully designed by the dietician. A meal plan functions as their point of sobriety.
Interventions focus on needs, memories, dissociated and distorted emotions, post traumatic stress responses as well as symptoms of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and loss. Treatment always attends to comorbid psychiatric and comorbid addictions, including substance abuse, cutting, sexual compulsivity, and kleptomania. Close attention is paid throughout treatment to individual perceptive and interpretive, physiological, interpersonal, cultural diversity, and societal factors.
Treatment goals stem from the elimination of symptoms and prevention of relapse by resolving underlying psychiatric, psychological and emotional conflicts. This is achieved through learning and living productive coping mechanisms, concrete skills, and new perceptions. This is achieved through learning how to live a life of recovery.
Professional reentry is available through the Sante Center for Healings respected record of advocacy with professional licensing boards. Vocational needs are addressed by way of a working relationship with the Texas Rehabilitation Commission.

Krista Highfield, MS, LPC, CTRT
I provide comprehensive individual, group, and family therapy for people struggling with eating disorders. I also provide assessment to determine the presence and/or the severity of eating disordered symptoms. When necessary, I work with a team of other professionals (dietitians, medical doctors, psychiatrists), in order to address the multidimensional nature of these problems. As a complement to my knowledge of eating disorder treatment, I also specialize in abuse and trauma resolution therapy. Many people with eating disorders have underlying trauma issues, and in these situations it is important to work with a therapist who can comprehensively address both issues. I am committed to individualizing therapy, so I draw from a wide variety of treatment methods and incorporate experiential and expressive arts therapies into my work when appropriate and only when comfortable for my clients. Some of the expressive therapies include using art, music, clay, journaling, sandplay, and dance/movement to explore, clarify, and express inner experiences and emotions. I am willing to work on a sliding fee scale when needed. You are not alone! There is help and hope!
