Listening in Silence
by: Rachel

Thighs width of pencils
write images in mind
      my heart slows
      i count the bones
      and feel
the hollows
smooth as glass
reflecting light
a blinding sight
were there anything
      left
      to see
this miracle has passed
the brilliance is dimmed
fatigue has set in
turn the page and
      i
      will fade
away
papercut stings
with blood unshed
fingers cold
eyes closed
in quiet repose
Little girl
in a pretty box
breathes in
      exhales
      on the
wind
till there is nothing
      left
      to fake
words spoken
in times like these
speak softly
to the mirrors
      in the trees
in the darkened clime
of her own design
she is listening
      in silence
waiting
      with patience
for the truth to cease
playing thes games
to set her free
she dances
      her dance
in ephemeral light
faded away her beauty bright
fly away angel
into the sky
rise on the wind
forever and goodbye
