What Would It Be Like?
by: Jani G.

I wonder sometimes what it would be like,
and just who I would be,
if I dropped this e.d. in it's tracks
and set out to find the real me.
Sometimes the thought is scary...
I've known this for so long.
Sometimes the thought is great...
I'd find out where I belong.
I get a little nervous
about leaving the e.d. part of me.
It seems a little strange
that there is another "me" I could be.
What would it be like
to look in the mirror
and for just once,
not feel fear?
What would it be like
to love the person I've grown to be
and for just once
know what it's like to really see?
What would it be like
to fall in love with myself
and to take down the dreams
that I had put on the shelf?
What would it be like
to really not care
about the size of pants
that I wear?
I wonder sometimes what it would be like,
and just who I would be,
if I dropped this e.d. in it's tracks
and set out to find the real me.
Sometimes the thought is scary...
I've known this for so long.
Sometimes the thought is great...
I'd find out where I belong.
I get a little nervous,
but I know that if I take the stand,
I'll learn to love the person
that I really am.
