The Girl in the Mirror

Do I know this girl
Inside the mirror?
With her vacant eyes
And sunken cheeks?

Do I know this girl?
With self-loathing in her eyes
Emotions escaping
Through protruding bones
And bleeding arms

Do I know this girl?
With scars and tears
And unspoken fears
She frightens me.

Could this be me?
This child of pain?
Who has turned her face from light
To look...
