The Slowest Parade
by: Nicole Bernadette

The slowest parade you've ever seen,
Wasting away over millions of days,
A soldier in a war where you were dying to be thin,
A heartwrenching war where you can never win.
Their weight of sorrows carried far and carried long,
Their lonely tears pattered in a melancholy song,
All come to live their dream,
And join the slowest parade they've ever seen.
