Beautiful

Bruised and Beaten
Self-Inflicted
I lay naked on my bed.
Pain overcomes my body
Images surround me
I can't get them out of my head.
In a way
I wish that you could see me
You would wrap your arms around me
And shield my body from self-destruction
You would dump my pills out of the bottle
Drain my body of all it's sorrow
and make me feel again
But you just sit there
acting as if I'm OK
not acknowledging that I'm
dying inside
Pretending that I will grow out of
this stage
But how can I do that
when I'm lying dead in my room?
when i pushed my body to it's
very limit
and there is nothing left for
anyone to do?
Heaven forbid I need you here
What was I thinking when
i thought that you cared?
At this rate
I'll be beautiful soon
All the pills and bathroom runs
will have done all that they can
do.
You won't have to put up with my
whining anymore
and you'll want me here
because when I'm beautiful
you'll love me as much
as I love you...
