The Girl In The Picture

Broken, I lay in bed wondering how this happened.
Who is the girl in the picture?
Her eyes are lifeless, her body a skeleton, her soul empty.
Surely she is not me.
For nothing is really wrong.
I'm fine.
Ignore my wasting away, the foul smell on my hand, my bloodshot eyes.
Everytime I succumb to defeat, I look as if I've been crying
But I have no tears left.
Certainly not for me; I'm worthless.
Do I really have this disease?
Six months ago I was fine.
Now I am trapped.
Who is strong enough to break through the lies, the pain?
It wants me dead, but there is a spark that won't go out.
Life has to be better than this.
Who will save the girl in the picture?
