You See
by: Lauren

You see a happy girl with lots of friends, but have you looked inside her eyes?
You see her parents and her good boyfriend, but have you look into her eyes?
You see a girl full of energy and happiness, but have you looked inside her soul?
You see a girl who owns lots of things, but have you seen her at all?

Her face is smiling while her soul's pain,
You see her standing dry In the pouring rain.
She just can't stand being so upset,
so she gives up and get's wet.

You see a girl who's confident, but have you looked inside her eyes?
You see her house and the clothes she wears, but have you looked into her eyes?
You see her shoes and her eyelashes, but have you looked inside her soul?
You see a girl who has rings on her fingers, but have you seen her at all?

Her face is smiling while her soul's pain,
You see her standing dry In the pouring rain.
She just can't stand being so upset,
so she gives up and get's wet.

She runs and runs and hides among the lots
and can't figure out why she doesn't smile a lot.
She's lonely inside and wants to brake free.
She's screaming, "I want to be me...screw society!"

So she takes off her mask and she just let's loose,
finally rips free of her invisible noose.
She's happier now than ever before.
She doesn't have to pretend anymore.

She thanks God for her living so well and prays for the ones who can't be themselves.

Her face is smiling while her soul's pain,
You see her standing dry In the pouring rain.
She just can't stand being so upset,
so she gives up and get's wet...
