Look a Little Closer

If you looked at me
What would you see?

Some see a cheerful girl
With a bright smile.

Others don't.
Some look a little closer.

They see a girl
Screaming for help.

Those that look closer
Are few
But thankfully
There are some.

Look a little closer
You will see
Not the girl that I pretend to be
But the real me.
Look a little closer.
