Eyes of Brown
by: Beckie Anthony

Eyes of brown so lonely and sad,
why do you cry?
I look at you and see a girl who has everything,
a life of many opportunities.

Eyes of brown,
what is it that you're hiding so deep inside?
A heart of gold, now a gray cold stone.
A soul once filled with so much hope, now rotting away.
Emptiness now fills your body and mind.

Eyes of brown,
why is that you carry so much pain around?
The world can take care of itself and not everything is your fault.

Eyes of brown,
Who is that girl you see in the mirror?
A gaunt little girl, with lifeless eyes, and an empty soul who is lost.

Eyes of brown so lonely and sad,
why do you cry?
I stare at the girl for sometime more,
and I realize it's my brown eyes staring back at me.
