What is it Like to be Me?
by: Amie

On the surface, she smiles.
On the surface, she cracks jokes.
On the surface, she laughs.

Looking in the mirror, she wants more
Looking in the mirror, she becomes sad
Looking in the mirror, she knows she hides well

On the inside, she is scared
On the inside, she cries deprivation
On the inside, she thinks about the world without her

On the surface, she loves food
Looking in the mirror, she is digusted yet numb
On the inside, she goes to bed crying from guilt

On the surface, she's smart and popular
Looking in the mirror, she doesn't have the life SHE wants
On the inside, she asks, "Why me"?
