Mirror of Myself
by: Peggy Sue

I want to cry for you,
     so frail, so thin
Mirror of myself,
     it hurts.

Jacket on shoulders
     merely joints without support
Arms outstretched from a body
     that once, was whole.

The distance in your eyes,
     I know so well
I find myself searching
     for the missing piece
That the puzzle of your life
might make you whole once more
Not knowing where to find it,
     hurts.

So, I will cry for you
with honest tears,
     for strength, for time
For love to find you,
     to fill the void within.

I know so well
     the road you travel
For I've yet to find
     where it ends
Oh, Mirror of myself
     it hurts.
