Unknown Reasons

Make this girl the word
She wanted to be. Great.
Like Ghandi or Anias Nin.
Not Nothing-- the word
That Became her. She is
Mute, her mouth does not move.

Things didn't go as Planned.
The Plan went awry.
She can't remember how
She got to this place where
The walls are made of glass and time
Has stopped for unknown reasons.

Nothing ever changes Outside.
She watches each day to be certain.
What happened to the rhythm
Of seasons? There is no warmth
In a house made of glass, and no end
In sight to this winter.
