What It Is
by: Randomreflections (Liz C.)

Its the habit that I can not break
the voice screaming at me when I make a mistake
The magic that makes those impossible pounds appear
The critic whispering secrets in my ear

Its the esteem that makes my head hang low
The promise that Ill never be where I want to go
Its the cage that looks so golden from within
Its the thing I don't want to give to God, the sin

Its the thing that makes my body ache
My back grow crooked, my legs not straight
My head grow dizzy, my vision blurry
It makes me want to end it all in a hurry

My stomach gets sicker, my insides a mess
Especially when I put myself under this stress
But somehow it looks so golden, this cage, from within
And I do not want to let go of this monster, this sin.
