No One Comes to Help
by: Kate St. Amant

my mind is swelling
thoughts of endless nightmares
cloud my every wish to be happy
i'm running but i can't seem to end up
anywhere than where i've started
blood runs down my face and devilishly tickles my nose
i see only black
dark shadows scurry around me
i try to escape
i scream but no sound comes forth
i cry
no one comes to help
spiders, roaches, snakes cover my body
they slither, scurry and creep over my bleeding flesh
why won't anyone help me?
nobody cares
i am at sea
waves pour over the sides of the boat
i cast the anchor but it never reaches the bottom
suddenly
a black wave pushes me over the edge
i am alone in the endless swarthy sea
or am i?
miles below swim the earth's most
vicious creatures
i don't know if i should scream
struggle against the muscles of the sea
let myself be engulfed in the murky nightmare
no one comes to help
see
the light was shining
so i turned it off
i looked very pretty
so i bruised up my body
people reached out to grab my hand
so i walked away
i was told it would kill me
so i lit up a smoke
the roads were wet
so i drove really fast
lightning was striking
so i became its fair target
the pain is so great unlike anything before
i am on the edge but
no one comes to help anymore
