My name is Eve and I am a medical student and ED sufferer.
So where do you come in? Well, in writing about EDs, I can and will cite lots of references from books and journals and anything else I can get my hands on. But, my opinion
is that I can't possibly produce a reliable essay without hearing from the
sufferers themselves. Basically, I want to know how YOU think your ED could
have been prevented, if at all.
What needs to be done to prevent others following down our path?
I am particularly interested in British sufferers.
Obviously, I have a fair few ideas of my own for this essay, and I have
vague theories as to why I have an ED, but I need to be able to say - this
is what the people I spoke to said. I'm not interested in a bunch of
statistics - I want to know about real people.
Please, I would be so grateful if you could help me. I might finally be
getting a chance to yell out all the opinions I've so far only muttered
angrily to myself. This is also a chance for you to get your voice heard.
Please e-mail me any opinions you have.

The Price Foundation is sponsoring a multicenter, international study seeking to determine whether a gene or genes might predispose individuals to develop anorexia nervosa.
We need families with at least one member who has or had anorexia nervosa, both of whose parents are willing to participate in this study. The study involves assessments, questionnaires, and a blood draw. You do not need to travel; everything can be done where you live.
Participants will be paid upon completion of the study.
If you have or had anorexia and are interested in obtaining more information,
please call our toll free number, visit the website or contact us by e-mail. If you
know any families affected by anorexia nervosa that might qualify and be
interested in participating, please inform them of this study.
