I'm going to put together a book of compiled stories. The book will cover eds from just beginning and dabling, to in the midst- whereever in that midst the person may be, on the recovery path and finally recoverED. I really want a full spectrum, stories from all different kinds of people, where ever they are in their eds. I mean, you see books with kind of "overview" stories, where they talk about how it started, a little of the hell in the middle then why they started getting better. what I'm looking for is closer to snapshots. Moments that made such a huge impact- it could be centered around near life altering experience or a tiny little detail taht just made such an impact- not a general ove! rview of the eating disorder. The stories should be personal- it's not about telling the WHOLE story, just one of the millions of little ones that make up the your life. They do not have to be recovery oriented- that can be from any of the many mindstates that come along in the ed. The idea is to get them all so anyone can see themselves somewhere in the book.
Hopefully the stories will be from all kinds of people from all kinds of situations. The woman who fought it all for ten years and doesn't know who to change, the girl who started about three months ago and it suddenly spiraled into a horrible mess. The idea is it will be really complete, so anyone who is starting to suffer, has suffered or is suffering can find something to relate to and maybe get some wisdom. By seeing someone else's turning point, specific moment, habit-they might see something in themeslves.
If anyone would like to contribute stories (and you're welcome to send more than one since it's not like an summary time thing- the more the better!) I would be so grateful! I'm not really going to start working on this full swing til the summer when I actually have time.
Please submit all stories or questions to:

Many of us have lost friends or family, clients and patients to anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Elegy, a short memorial film, gives us a chance to join a chorus of voices celebrating and mourning the lives of people we have loved and lost.
imageReal Pictures, a documentary film company, is collecting visual mementos and memories of lives lost. We are also collecting oral tributes, reflections, and farewells - either on tape or through a toll-free voice mailbox.
Is there a child, a parent, a friend, or a patient you'd like us to remember? No submission is too small, and anonymous tributes are welcome.
We welcome:
Please send your tributes to:
Or call us toll-free at: 1-866-438-8981
To help us display your tribute most respectfully, we'd appreciate you sending in a participation form with your submission. The forms help us acknowledge contributions and/or accurately honor requests for
anonymity. The participation form can be printed directly from our website:
